The “Why” Behind the Blog

Most people keep their hobbies and their careers separate. I’m doing the opposite. This blog exists to document my journey through Cybersecurity while showcasing the high-level coordination required in Destiny 2.

The Mission: Clearing a Day 1 Raid

One of my primary goals this year is to clear a Day 1 Raid. For those who don’t play, this is the ultimate “stress test”—limited power levels, unknown mechanics, and a 48 hour clock. Unlike traditional raids, these are set at a fixed power with higher level enemy AI, so we are always underleveled. The other thing is that it is a 6-man activity. So, everyone has to be operating at peak efficiency in order to get the clear. Clearing a day one results in a exclusive emblem, a guaranteed drop of the raids exotic weapon, and if you are first, the title of world’s first and a WWE style belt.

Previous Experiences

One thing is that we as a team (everyone will be introduced soon) need to be organized and have good cohesion. The team has undergone some changes since the last raid race, that being Desert Perpetual. Nearly everyone on the team has cleared a day one raid or dungeon, so I believe we have the prior experience to lock in another win.

Below is a chart of the current team, and what notable things we have done:

The Prep Work

Clearing a Day 1 isn’t just about being good at the game, it’s about preparation. Here is how I’m documenting our team’s prep:

  • Loadout Optimization: Analyzing the meta and prepping builds.
  • Role / Team Assignment: Figuring out what the prebuilt teams and roles are, and who works together best.
  • Practice Schedule: Mastering current raids to build team synergy.

Sharing Ideas and Informing Others

Beyond gaming, I’ll be using this space to talk about my thoughts on different weapons, incoming news, and more!

Conclusion: The Roadmap

So, the goal is clearing a day one. How are we going to do it? Lets look at a potential roadmap. The most important thing to remember is that the next day one has not even been anounced. There is a non-zero chance that D2 does not get another day one, and this is all for nothing. However, it is the game I love and so I am going to support and play through thick and thin.

WHAT WE KNOW

  • June - Pantheon 2 Release, all dungeon and raid loot refreshed

WHAT I ANTICIPATE

WHAT WE AIM TO ACCOMPLISH

  • Weekly raid nights for team synergy

Thank you for reading the begining of the journey. I will be streaming on Twitch and hopefully posting on Youtube some of the team activites, weapon reviews, and more.

Thanks again,
